Kateryna Kotelevets is an ICEA educational programs coordinator. She is an educator with working experience from Ukraine and successfully working in a school in Washington State. Kateryna graduated from Kharkiv National Pedagogical University (Ukraine) and continued her studies in graduate school at the University of Educational Management of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences in Kyiv, Ukraine. Her research focuses on developing approaches that help students quickly adapt to a new environment, which is relevant for schoolchildren and teachers who fled Ukraine during the war. The practical application of her methods has received high praise from leaders in international education. She actively participates in international conferences and educational forums.
Kateryna Kotelevets is a member of Community-Minded Enterprises (CME) within the ECEAP program. She is a leading teacher, providing training, support, and educational preparation for children. As part of ICEA educational programs, she conducts adoption classes for schoolchildren, introduces elements of digital literacy, analyzes learning outcomes, adapts teaching methods for a trilingual environment, and participates in international projects. Kateryna supports families who are just beginning to adapt to American society. This expertise is particularly valuable in Washington State public schools. Kateryna continues to develop the ideas she began researching in Ukraine through ICEA programs. She analyzes the development of digital competence in students, compares educational models, and adapts her research findings to the needs of American schools. Her work exemplifies how an educator can combine years of experience, research interests, and new opportunities to create a supportive, accessible, and adaptive learning environment for children in a new country.
